Biography: 

Dr. Angela L. Snyder is an Associate Professor at 51��Ƶ, where she teaches in the School of Education and serves as a leader in assessment, accreditation, and doctoral research development. Since joining 51��Ƶ in 2009, she has earned tenure (2019), been promoted to Associate Professor (2018), and become a central contributor to the university’s research, assessment, and technology initiatives. She co-chairs the School of Education Assessment Committee, serves on multiple university-wide committees, including the University Assessment as well as the Instructional Technology Committees, and is a key member of the 51��Ƶ AI Taskforce, helping design policy and programming related to artificial intelligence in higher education. A methodologist by training with expertise in both qualitative and quantitative approaches, she chairs and supports dozens of doctoral dissertations across diverse topics each year. Dr. Snyder also directs doctoral writing groups, develops online and hybrid research methods courses, and co-coordinates the School of Education’s edTPA program, providing ongoing coaching, seminars, and faculty development related to candidate performance and assessment. 

Dr. Snyder’s scholarship centers on teacher preparation, assessment, doctoral student support, and the integration of mindfulness and AI into educator development. Her work includes book chapters, peer-reviewed publications, invited reviews, and more than two decades of national and regional conference presentations. Prior to her time at 51��Ƶ, she served as a graduate faculty member, project director at Virginia Commonwealth University, contributing to federally funded projects focused on emotional and behavioral disorders, early childhood interventions, and classroom climate. Across her career, she has combined methodological rigor with a deep commitment to practitioner-focused research, community engagement, and student success. Her professional service includes roles in the MDedTPA Collaborative, where she has served as President, President-Elect, and Secretary, and ongoing manuscript reviewing for journals such as School-University Partnerships and The New Educator. Through her teaching, mentoring, and leadership, Dr. Snyder continues to advance research-based, equity-driven educator preparation that supports both P–12 learners and the doctoral scholars she guides.
